Parent Association

Every family is a member of Park Day School’s parent association, the Parent Stewardship Group (PSG). The PSG is led by parent volunteers and activities and efforts build community within the school and among families. PSG volunteers support select multi-grade/all-school events, organize community-fueled teacher appreciation efforts, strengthen overall family connections, and help build a stronger community by helping parents plug in and volunteer to support Park Day School.

PSG Mission

The mission of the PSG is to cultivate a strong and productive parent community that builds a culture of volunteerism and engagement. The PSG co-chairs facilitate communication between parents, committees, and the school, coordinates opportunities for parent participation, and find ways for parents to support the school’s mission, philosophy and key initiatives.

Activities

Our association does everything from planning annual celebrations like the Halloween Fair and Grandparents & Special Friends Day, to creating a joyful and robust series of teacher appreciation events, to supporting Class Parent led initiatives and socials. Our parent association also takes lead in helping the school reach a 100% family participation Annual Fund fundraising goal.

Affinity Groups

Affinity groups are parent led and reflect a social and community space around a common identity. Activities typically take place outside of school and help build family engagement and parent connections. Affinity groups include:

Families with Children of Color Affinity Group (FWCOC)
LGBTQ+ Community Affinity Group
Gender Justice Alliance (GJA): families with gender expansive children
Families Built by Adoption Affinity Group
Single Parent Families Affinity Group

Alliance Groups

Park Day School is committed to building a sense of belonging, equity and advocacy within our diverse school environment. Alliance groups are parent led groups and bring together adult members of the community in support of different identities, interests, or causes. Alliance groups reflect one way for our school to build an inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and promotes empathy, respect, and the pursuit of social justice.
